Sky HISTORY TikTok
As the world went into lockdown, one app didn’t.
2020 was the year of TikTok and after becoming unbelievably addicted to my FYP, I discovered an opportunity for our two powerhouse brands at A+E Networks: Sky HISTORY and Crime+Investigation.
In my own time, I developed a deck and pitched to the platform to Creative, to our VPs, and finally our MD, who gave me the go ahead with project TikTok.
I developed a content strategy, built relationships with TikTok partners, identified rights licensing (that even our social media team didn’t know), managed geo-blocking and verification and built out our entire brand on the platform.
We launched in July of 2021 and I was given one day a week to create content and manage it. A year down the line, Sky HISTORY TikTok is triumph (if I do say so myself). I’ve grown TikTok to become the Sky HISTORY’S second biggest social media platform and have delivered over 28 million organic UK views on my own.
I’ve created bespoke campaign content on the platform, I’ve supported Black History Month, developed content for Holocaust Memorial Day with talent discovered through TikTok and I’ve presented our successes in front of the whole company at our Content and Creative Summit in Roma 2022.
