Holocaust Memorial Day

It all started with one 20” spot for our VOD offering of Holocaust documentaries to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day.

I thought nah. We’ve got to do more here. We’re the bloody History channel!

I’d come across the wonderful Lily Ebert on TikTok and knew I wanted to try and get her involved. Lily is a Hungarian Auschwitz Survivor who has dedicated her life to Holocaust education. Through the pandemic, Lily and her great-grandson, Dov Forman, turned to TikTok where they’ve shared her story with the world, myself included.

I pitched an interview with Lily and Dov in her home; this would be so much more powerful to hear from a survivor than cut clips from a probably excellent documentary and luckily, got the green light! Unfortunately, I got caught Covid so we had to film the entire interview through Zoom 3 days before Christmas while I had a fever and couldn’t stop shaking but Lily and Dov were absolutely brilliant.

I created multiple assets including bumpers, on-air fillers, social shortform and bespoke clips for TikTok. Other EMEA territories even requested the assets to share in their countries.

All to raise awareness of the 27th January, Holocaust Memorial Day.
